What is Proposition 2?
Also known as the Public Education Facilities Bond, Prop 2 provides:
$8.5 billion for K–12 school facilities
$1.5 billion for California Community Colleges
Dedicated funds for modernization, new construction, safety upgrades, transitional kindergarten (TK), and career technical education (CTE)
Additional funding for lead remediation and improvements to drinking water systems
State matching rates range from 50–65%, depending on project type and district need.
Who Qualifies?
All California public K–12 school districts, including charter schools, are eligible to apply. Districts with limited local resources, small enrollments, or high-need student populations may qualify for enhanced matching or priority funding.
